RES‑Q‑NAM was founded to provide Mental Health Rapid Intervention when individuals are experiencing a crisis. We are medics, not counsellors, trained to listen, stabilize, and assist in the de‑escalation of high‑risk situations. Our mission is to ensure that people in distress are treated with dignity and compassion, and this service is provided completely free of charge.
A unique part of our intervention team is Patches, our Emotional Support Dog (ESD). Patches have proven to be remarkably effective in calming individuals during crisis events. Her presence reduces anxiety, builds trust, and helps create a safe environment where people feel less isolated and more open to receiving help. Time and again, we have seen how her gentle companionship can shift the tone of an emergency from chaos to calm.
